Veganism, religion, and the division of activists

After a while people start to see the big picture, that all oppression is related stemming from the same place.   1. I appreciate your post Steven. I am one of those religious vegans and I agree that everyone who is against oppression whether religious or not, needs to find common ground in which to accomplish the greatest good.
    We recently hosted a vegan potluck in our home for our local vegetarian society. The theme was spiritual and non-spiritual reasons for an animal rights perspective. We had a nice mix of views in our guests and everyone was respectful of each other with a common desire to see protection and compassion displayed to all creatures, animal and human.
    I agree that religion can be oppressive when it is practiced in such a manner, but it does not have to be so.

  3. You're welcome Steven! We did have a great time. We're fortunate in that our faith community seems open to animal protection issues and our veg society friends aren't scared off by spiritual issues! :-)
